Move your mouse over components to see what they are.I hope to get this running on battery powered by solar at some point. I have done some calculations on how much battery storage capacity I will need to not overly cycle the batteries. I am burning about 250watts currently while under high CPU load. I will be designing some type of circuit to swap from my 24V 750W AC->DC converter to battery and solar when I have excess from the panels or as a UPS when I loose AC. This is the battery enclosure I am looking at. It will hold 6 group 31 12v ~105ah batteries. Using sealed AGM batteries will be more expensive but will avoid any ventlation issues.http://www.vonwentzel.net/Battery/index.html
- Deep-Cycle Flooded cell battery manufacturers recommend a 4 to 1 ratio between battery bank size and the largest load encountered on board.
- AGM and Gel cell manufacturers recommend a ratio of at least 3 to 1, a significant difference for loads such as the engine starter or windlass.
- The water needs of flooded cells can be reduced via the use of Hydrocaps, which facilitate the recombination of Oxygen and Hydrogen during the charging process.
